Abstract
1432740 Clocks JAHRESUHRENFABRIK GmbH AUG SCHATZ & SOHNE 18 March 1974 [28 March 1973] 11959/74 Heading G3T A simulated torsion pendulum 16 having no clock-regulating function is mounted on a pin 6 protruding from an electrical actuator 3 mounted under the "pendulum" and independent of the clock drive. As shown the actuator includes a balance comprising discs 17, 18 fixed to the pin 6 and carrying magnets 5, 14, 15 which co-operate with fixed coils 7, 11. The coils are powered by a battery which also supplies the clock drive (not shown). The pin 6 extends through upper bearing 46 in a threaded bush 2 and carries a tapered part 10 to receive the "pendulum". The actuator 3 is adjustably mounted in clock base 23 by means of the bush 2 and a nut 12.
