Abstract
1432475 Shearing KHARKOV FILIAL INST AUTOMATIKI 2 May 1973 20798/73 Heading B3W Shearing apparatus for cutting rolled sheets comprises a device 3 including gripper means for supplying sheets to a table 5 from a pile 2 alongside it. A slide-block 9 carries a gripper 17 which is movable relative to the block to orient a sheet relative to a gauging stop 16 which is parallel to a guillotine shear 7. The block is driven, along guides 10, by a drive comprising an electric stepping motor 11 and an hydraulic booster 15 through a lead screw 13. A sensor 21 registers the presence of a sheet in the gripper 17 and produces a signal to cause the gripper to grip the sheet and move it relative to the block, as shown through electromagnets 20 and 18 respectively. A sensor 22 detects the passage of the leading edge of a sheet, stops the feed and actuates the upper, movable blade 24 according to a pre-set cutting programme. A sensor 23 on the shear 7 determines the upper return position of the blade 24. A device 8 for sorting and removing blanks cut from a sheet includes a carriage 25 which is connected to the sensor 23. As shown, the sheet supply device 3 includes a jib 44 pivoted on a column 45 by a cylinder 46 and carrying suction cups 49 mounted on a bar 48 which is vertically and pivotally movable by cylinders 47 and 50 respectively. A sensor 51 on the bar 48 for detecting the availability of a sheet is connected to the cylinders 46, 47 and 50 and to the motor 11. The pile 2 is formed on a platform 1 moved to its lowest position by a cylinder 39 and the platform is then raised to bring the upper sheet level with a magnetic separator 42. In operation, the slide-block 9 is moved to its extreme right position (Fig. 1) with the gripper 17 open and in its extreme left position on the block. The carriage 25 is moved up to the shear. The number and size of blanks, the location of the storage container to receive them, the amount, if any, of trimming required &c. are fed to the programme control system. Under the control of sensor 51, a sheet picked up by suction cups 49 is fed to the table 5 and the motor 11 is started to move the block towards the shear. During this movement the gripper 17 aligns the sheet with the stop 16, a sensor 26 reversing the motor 11 and releasing and returning the gripper to initial position if alignment is not correct. The sensor 22, which may be a photocell, stops the motor and actuates the blade 24 when a length of the sheet determined by the cutting programme has passed through the shear. A signal from the sensor 23 starts the sizing of the next blank and actuates the carriage 25 to remove the cut blanks from a receiving table 27. Fingers 32 on the carriage, which mesh with fingers 29 of the table, have spring-loaded catches 33 which are deflected to lie flat by the weight of a blank on the table 27 and restored to their normal, vertical position under slipway 28. Pushers 31, each associated with a container 34 or section of a container, are pivoted clockwise by a blank or pile of blanks on the carriage on movement of the carriage away from the shear and sweep and blank(s) into the first container/section encountered as the carriage moves back towards the shear. Movable walls (36), Fig. 3 (not shown), are actuated by pneumatic cylinders to straighten a pile of blanks in a container. The slipway 28 may be pivoted to the table 27 to allow scrap to be discharged to a bin 38. If the cutting programme requires it, a partly sheared sheet may be moved back to the supply device 3 to be turned through 90 degrees by the bar 48 and suction cups 49.
