Abstract

1432468 Embossing OCG WENNBERG 19 June 1973 ]19 June 1972] 29046/73 Heading B6J [Also in Division B3] Apparatus for embossing or levelling and embossing electrolytically precipitated thin sheets 66 comprises at least one co-operating pair of feed rollers 42, 44, Fig. 3, at least one cooperating pair of embossing or levelling and embossing rollers, a resilient endless belt 46, 48 arranged for advancing sheets between the rollers and a drive 60 for rotating the embossing rollers 26-36. The belts 46, 48 pass between the levelling rollers 38, 40. Each of the embossing rollers includes alternate roll sections of differing diameter, with the belts 46, 48 being carried around the sections of smallest diameter to advance the sheets 66 through the rollers. Rollers 28, 32, 36 are driven by a motor 60 via chain or belt-driven devices 62. The sheet obtains successive elevations (68), depressions (70) and bevelling (72), Figs. 5, 6 (not shown), from the rollers and can then be used in the electrolytic production of copper.
