Abstract

1432224 Storage system J-M MALHERBE 6April 1973 [6 April 1972] 16741/73 Heading A4T [ Also in Division B8] Storage retrieval system comprises groups of compartments 2, 3 separated by an aisle 6 and a carriage 1 movable along rails 4, 5 on the compartments and carrying winches 15 from which a lift platform 7 is suspended by cables 16, 17. The platform is movable along guides 8, 9 secured to the front of the compartments and guides 11, 12 secured to the carriage and carries telescopic arms 20 for the insertion and retrieval of pallets in the compartments. A conveyer 21 in provided in the aisle to deliver or receive goods from the lift platform or alternatively Fig. 4 (not shown) conveyers (22) (23) may be provided in the lower compartments to leave the aisle clear. The platform has two pairs of three armed members Fig. 6 (not shown), two of the arms (36), (37), (40), (41) of each member carrying rollers (38), (39), (42), (43) to engage respectively the inner and outer surfaces of guides (30), (31). The third arm (44) (45) of each member being articulated to a link (48) (49) connected to a lift cable. The arrangement allows misalignments between the guides 8, 9 and 11, 12.
