Abstract

1432138 Photographic processes for producing reversal images AGFA-GEVAERT NV 18 June 1973 [26 June 1972] 29917/72 Heading G2C A photographic process for producing reversal images comprises (i) imagewise exposing a photosensitive material containing (a) a photo-chromic spiropyron (b) an organic polyhalogen and (c) a homo- or co-polymer of N-vinyl carbazole to prodeuce a latent or faintly visible negative,image, (ii) uniformly heating the material e.g. to between 120‹ and 150‹C and (iii) uniformly exposing to infrared radiation optionally mixed with white light to produce a positive coloured image. The third step may be carried out whilst heating the material to 100‹C. The photo-sensitive material may be that disclosed in Specification 1359472. The positive image may be stabilized by removal of the organic halogen by heat and/or solvent or by dipping it in a mineral oil heated to 145‹ to 165‹C and removing the residual oil film.
