Road-traffic signals on vehicles; transparency and stencil luminous signals.-Turning and stopping signal apparatus for vehicles comprises an indicator of the kind having a glazed cover bearing the signal indications any of which may be illuminated at will by a corresponding lamp, and a switchboard within reach of the driver and having tell-tale lamps each in parallel with the corresponding lamp of the indicator. The tell-tale lamps may have distinctive colours or may illuminate suitable indications. The indicator comprises a casing 2 with one or more glazed covers bearing the required indications, such as those shown, and divided into four compartments by radial partitions. Each compartment contains a lamp, which may have a reflector 23, for illuminating the corresponding indication. The lamps, which may be coloured, are controlled by switch arms 7, 8 co-operating with contacts 3 - - 6 to control the lamps of the indicator, and at the same time with contacts 3<a> - - 6<a> to control telltale lamps 9 - - 12 each in parallel with the corresponding indicator lamp. The switchboard also has a clip (not shown) by which it may be secured to the steering-wheel. A circuit diagram is given.
