1430764 Scaffolding KWIKFORM Ltd 2 April 1973 [28 March 1972] 14374/72 Heading E1S Scaffolding comprises uprights 9 bearing sockets 12 open at their upper and lower ends, cross-members 10 having at each end a connector comprising a pair of vertically spaced apertured limbs 13 between which a respective socket 12 is received, wedges 14 inserted through the apertures in the limbs and the sockets to secure the cross-members to the uprights, and diagonal braces 17 having apertured ends which are connected to the ends of the cross-members by the wedges 14 or by other vertically extending male connectors on the ends of the cross-members. The braces 17 have flat end portions 18 or 21, which are angled relative to the braces in the case where they are connected to the wedges, as shown in Fig. 4, the end portions 21 being each located between an end of a socket 12 and one of the limbs 13 and a wedge 14 being inserted therethrough; the end portions 21 are angled in their own plane for braces 17 in a horizontal plane, or are angled out of their plane for braces in a vertical plane. In the case of connectors other than the wedges for the braces, a channelshaped bracket 15 secured under the end of the cross-member (Fig. 2) has on its web an upstanding stud 16 on which an end portion 18 of a brace is engaged.
