Abstract
1430688 Knitted fabrics for curtains GARDISETTE HOLDING AG 6 July 1973 [11 July 1972] 32270/73 Heading D1K A knitted fabric comprises spaced bridging threads connected by strips comprising a plurality of threads, the spacing between the strips being greater than that between the bridging threads and at least five times the width of each strip so that, when the strips are hung vertically (e.g. as curtains) and closer together than the lengths of the bridging threads, the latter bang in a curve. The bridging threads may be synthetic or natural fibres glass asbestos or metal. The strips may be warp knitted, laid-in wefts, laid-in warps or knitted cords and the bridging threads may be similarly formed being of course complementary to the strip. As shown, Fig. 1, weft threads 3 form the strips and are laid-in warp knitted chains 2 which form the bridging threads, additional warps 2a being laid into chains 2. In another embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), wefts 6 are laid in by guide bars. In a further embodiment, Fig 3, strips 9 are formed by warp knitted chains 7 and the bridging threads are laid-in wefts.
