Abstract

1428962 Filter WATFORD ENG LTD 14 March 1973 [25 March 1972] 14134/72 Heading B1D Slurry is delivered through 30, 32 into a rotating flinger 44 which throws it centrifugally onto a tubular filter screen 18. In the Figure flinger 44 rotates a shaft 36. The liquid exits at 24, solids and liquid retained inside the wire mesh screen 18 fall into a closed bottom 12 having a solids outlet tube 29, and are lifted by impeller 46 and again flung outwardly onto the screen 18 through the flared top of impeller tube 48. Solids are withdrawn through outlet 29. The impeller 46 is inside an annular impeller tube 48 which may have holes in the wall to distribute liquid evenly.
