Abstract

1428548 Valves KARL-HEINZ THOMAS [trading as LANGEN & CO] 25 April 1973 [29 April 1972] 19604/73 Heading F2V A piston valve for controlling the flow of liquid under pressure to exhaust, comprises a piston 51 for regulating the flow between a port A and an exhaust port T, and an axial bore 62 in the piston the end of which is normally covered by a spring-loaded valve disc 68 which acts as a pressure-reducing valve providing a flow restriction in the flow path between the two ports, when the piston is lifted, to reduce noise caused by cavitation. A pressure port P communicates with the top of the piston through an axial duet 69, and the piston is controlled by a tappet 65 actuated by a lever 66.
