Abstract

1427410 Steering vehicles DRAVO CORP 23 July 1973 34980/73 Heading B7H [Also in Division E1] The three wheel support system for the chassis of a bucket wheel excavator or reclaimer is such that the chassis can be moved at right angles to a vertical plane, or parallel to the plane, or in an arc about an upright axis. The system comprises a pair of wheels 5 spaced to either side of one end of the chassis to support said end. These wheels are independently driven by means such as motors 45 and are independently turnable by suitable means 37 either in the same angular direction or in opposite angular directions through angles that can be in excess of 90 degrees about vertical axes. The other end of the chassis is supportd by a wheel assembly 3 that can be pivoted independently of the other wheels about an upright axis passing through the longitudinal axis of the chassis. U.S.A.
