1427368 Windscreens; rear view mirrors FLACHGLAS AG DELOG-DETAG 29 May 1973 [21 July 1972] 34665/75 Divided out of 1427367 Heading B7J [Also in Division H4] An aerial arrangement for a motor vehicle comprises at least one aerial element disposed in or on a window pane of the vehicle and an enclosed active electronic circuit connected to the aerial element and adapted to be connected to a car radio, the enclosed active element being accommodated in the rear view mirror of the vehicle or in its attachment device. As described a rear view mirror 1 is secured by an arm 2 and a mounting foot 3 to a windscreen 4 of a motor vehicle. A recess 5 formed in the foot 3 accommodates an enclosed active electronic circuit 6. An aerial 7 is connected to the circuit, from which a connection member 8 extends to a car radio. With the rear view mirror 1 mounted centrally inside the windscreen, the aerial 7 preferably comprises two L-shaped legs, which extend upwardly towards the top edge of the windscreen 4, and then in opposite directions along said top edge. The active electronic circuit 6 can provide matching between the aerial and the car radio over a wide band of frequencies, and may also serve as a preamplifier.
