1427180 Dynamoelectric machines SIEMENS AG 29 June 1973 [29 June 1972 17 Sept 1972] 31241/73 Heading H2A A kit of parts allows a dynamoelectric machine to be assembled with any desired value of axial core length within a range of values. In the assembled machine shown, a rotor shaft 3 with a fifty-five mm. long core 2 (solid line) is mounted in bearings 8, 9 in hubs 6, 7 in two relatively adjustable casing parts 4, 5, the casing parts being bolted together to provide support for a fifty-five mm. long stator core 1. The machine could however be assembled with cores of fifty mm. length (dot dash line) or forty-five mm. length (broken line) for example, in which cases the hub 6 would require machining to extend the borehole therein respectively to the positions of lines 6b, 6a. The hubs may be integral with the casing parts. In the embodiment of Fig. 2 (not shown), the "take-up" hub (6) is preformed with the longest borehole corresponding to the shortest core length, and a coil spring (10) pressing on the bearing (8) adjusts automatically to the desired extent.
