Abstract

1426440 Burners; air heaters NU-WAY BENSON Ltd 11 Dec 1973 [29 Dec 1972] 60080/72 Headings F4T and F4K A gas burner comprises a conduit 18 for conducting combustion air, and a plurality of burner arms 16 radiating from the centre of the conduit, each arm having a plurality of jet orifices 22 for directing gas forwardly at an angle of between 70 to 80 degrees to the direction of flow of combustion air. Gas is supplied to the burner arms through a tube 10, and each arm comprises a vane 20 to assist in the air flow A. Ignition of the fuel/air mixture is effected by a spark electrode assembly 23, and a flame probe assembly 25 is provided. The burner may be incorporated in an air heater Fig. 4, which comprises three concentric shells 40, 41, 42 and a combustion chamber 44. Air is supplied by a fan 48 driven by a motor 49, and the gas fuel supply is controlled by valves 62, 64.
