Abstract
1426150 Enamelling steel NIPPON STEEL CORP 15 Oct 1974 44548/74 Heading C1M [Also in Division C7] To prevent adjacent surfaces of Si-steel sheets or strip from sticking to one another during annealing, a separator agent comprising 0À01-2% B 2 O 3 in the form of nMgO.B 2 O 3 and at least 90% by wt. MgO is applied in water to the surfaces. During annealing an enamel film of SiO 2 -MgO-FeO-B 2 O 3 is formed on the surfaces. The B 2 O 3 is preferably present as 3MgO.B 2 O 3 and examples disclose the use of the agent in annealing 3% Si-steel for 20 hours at 1200‹ C. in H 2 .
