Abstract
1425954 Storage batteries VARTA BATTERIE AG 5 April 1973 [6 April 1972] 16399/73 Heading H1B A cell of a lead secondary battery has a thinwalled blow-moulded ease 1 of polypropylene with a welded-on injection moulded polypropylene cover 2. The positive electrodes are of tube type and the lugs 3 of individual positive and negative plates are brought separately through the cover, a polyvinyl based composition being used as sealant. The lugs are grouped in positive and negative sets by connections 4, some of which are integral with lead-coated copper intercell connections 7, 7a which link the cells into a series connected traction battery in a walled tray of steel or formed polyurethane (not shown).
