Abstract

1424695 Clamps A WANNAG 4 April 1973 [5 April 1972] 16039/73 Heading E2B A clamp comprises a web portion 6, a central tongue 11 and flexible side tongues 7a, 7b extending from the web portion, the side tongue 7a having a recessed portion 8 extending towards the side tongue 7b whereby a fabric passed over the tongue 11 and under the side tongues 7a, 7b is clamped by pivoting the side tongue 7b so that its end portion lies in the recess of the portion 8 and is retained by an edge portion 10 of the recessed portion. The edge portion 10 has an upstanding hook shaped portion or an undercut surface which engages with a complementarily shaped end portion 15 of the side tongue 7b. The tongue 11 may be offset from the side tongues and may be narrower or wider than the space between the side tongues. The side tongues have recesses 13 to render the side tongues flexible. The clamp is made of resilient material which may be plastics. The tongue 7a has a recess 16 for holding flexible tubes or the like, the recess may have a rivet impenetrable to X rays.
