Abstract

1424121 Piston dispensers PLASTITHERM Ltd 20 Nov 1973 [4 Jan 1973] 645/73 Heading F1R An adhesive member for use in a dispenser in which the forward end of the member is heated to form a liquid while the rear end forms a piston slidable in a chamber to dispense the liquid formed at the forward end, comprises a piston-like flanged rear end which sealingly engages the chamber wall so that fluid-pressure may be applied directly to the end of the member to cause the movement of the member and the discharge of the liquid. The flange may be formed directly by the material of the member or may comprise a sleeve or washer engaging the end or may be formed in a sleeve surrounding the member. The ends of the member may be of complementary shape so that two members may be disposed end-to-end in the dispenser without a substantial air pocket between.
