Abstract
1422988 Coils; relay coil bobbins TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON 15 June 1973 [19 June 1972] 28684/73 Headings H1P and H1N A bobbin for an electrical coil, e.g. for a relay or selector switch has an insulant end member comprising a section (Figs. 1, 2) normal to the core 4 and winding 5 with at right angles thereto a further section (Figs. 2, 3); first grooves 1 being cut in the first member to receive connecting wires to the windings and second continuation grooves 2 cut in the second member to contain soldering tags 3, 4 which are bent upwardly to facilitate soldering of the connecting wires 6, 7 thereto. The first grooves have narrow mouths 8 emerging into the respective second grooves. After winding the coil the connecting wires are soldered to the tags and mouths 8 are partially closed, e.g. by a hot tool applied to the thermoplastic material of the bobbin at 9, 10 to anchor the inner portions of the wires, after which the remaining portions are slackened by bending the tags downwardly into grooves 2. The mouths may alternatively be closed by, e.g. glue or an inserted plastic wedge.
