Abstract

1422692 Dentistry pins I A ELLMAN 30 March 1973 [31 March 1972] 15302/73 Heading A5R [Also in Division F2] A method of anchoring a metal pin to a tooth comprises forming in the tooth a hole having a width approximately equal to that of the pin, applying a thin coating of a liquid cyanoacrylate cement to an end of the pin or to the hole, and before the cement hardens, rapidly inserting the pin into the hole to anchor it therein by means of the cement. The pin may have a roughened surface and may be .threaded. The pin may have a square crosssection A number of pins may be supplied connected together in a strip by frangible connecting portions.
