Abstract

1422688 Self locking threaded fasteners MICRODOT Inc 1 June 1973 [24 July 1972] 26336/73 Heading F2H A threaded fastener is provided with a concave recess 14 extending across a plurality of convolutions of the fastener thread and deformable material 16 located in the recess 14 for deformation by the thread of a complementary fastener when the two fasteners are threaded together. The recess 14 may be of circular shape and provided with a base surface which extends into the fastener material no further than the roots of the thread convolutions, the maximum depth of the recess being at its centre. The threaded fastener may be a nut or bolt.
