Abstract

142,205. Brancker, R. Feb. 6, 1919. Staiths and elevated structures; storage chambers, emptying from below.-Relates to conveyer apparatus for loading a road vehicle with coal &c. from a railway wagon, both vehicles being at the same ground level. The receiving end of a conveyer 4 is arranged in a pit 3 below the railway track or tracks 1, the forward end being inclined upwards and mounted in an elevated structure 14 provided with driving-gear. Coal &c. shot on to the conveyer from a railway wagon is conveyed to a shoot 5, which discharges it into a road vehicle 15. The delivery end 5<x> of the shoot is hinged to the shoot and provided with a weighted arm 7 to which a chain 8 is attached, so that, by manipulating the chain, the coal can be loaded evenly into the vehicle.
