Abstract

1421983 Luminescent screens HITACHI Ltd 6 Feb 1973 [7 Feb 1972] 5864/73 Heading H1D Light exposure apparatus for formation of a striped colour c.r.t. phosphor screen comprises a slot mask, a light source assembly for projecting exposure light through a correction lens and the slot-mask apertures, the assembly including a collimator means with a leading portion 18 arranged to act as a linear light source parallel to the bridged aperture slits (Fig. 2, not shown). Two or more slender leading portions (18a, 18b) may be provided (Fig. 7a, not shown), which may be aligned point sources (Figs. 8a, 8b, not shown). Fig. 1 (not shown) includes a h.v. Hg arc lamp, reflector (7), and collimator 8. The phosphor material may be applied for each colour by the slurry method for example. Dimensions are given for the colour selecting electrode and collimator.
