Abstract

1421267 Air filtering DRAGERWERK AG 20 June 1973 [21 June 1972] 29401/73 Addition to 1382820 Heading BIT [Also in Division F4] An annular pleated air filter 3a with axially extending fold lines is internally irradiated by an ultra-violet irradiator 5 extending along the axis of the filter to kill bacteria and germs trapped on the filter. Fig. 1 shows several filters working in parallel in a common housing. UV source(s) 5 may be a single tube convoluted to extend into a plurality of filters, or a plurality of tubes and may be switched on intermittently. Access to allow change of elements is provided by cover 14. A downstream absorber to remove ozone may be provided.
