Abstract

1420582 Ignition distributers; ignition coils ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 22 March 1974 [23 March 1973] 12810/74 Headings H1N and HIT An insulating cap 1 for electrical components, such as an ignition distributer or ignition coil, comprising an insulating wall 2 carrying at least one high voltage connection has the wall at least partially surrounded by a radio interference suppressing casing 8 made from an electrically conductive plastics material, preferably polypropylene combined with carbon black in the ratio 70 : 30. As shown the casing 8 is somewhat resilient but sufficiently rigid to ensure a cavity 9 exists, and may be releasably secured to the wall 2 by radially inwardly projecting lugs 11. Alternatively the casing 8 may be applied directly on wall 2 in the form of a foam which is preferably closed-cellular or which has at least a closed outer skin. In each construction the casing 8 may also provide thermal insulation.
