Abstract

1420434 Valves W SCHMIDT & CO AB 5 March 1973 [14 Dec 1971] 58035/71 Heading F2V [Also in Division F1] An extra air valve for fitting to the inlet of an internal combustion engine to reduce the carbon monoxide content of the exhaust gases under idling operation, comprises a spring 16 urging a closure member 14 on to its seat 15a, the tension of the spring being adjustable by the insertion or removal of one or more spacers 21, 22 and by the relative rotation of threaded members 17, 15. An air-filter 11 is attached to the valve. A vacuum gauge for testing the valve can be attached at 24 following removal of a plug 25.
