Abstract

1420423 Fraction collector HEWLETT PACKARD LTD 12 Dec 1973 [28 Dec 1972] 57593/73 Heading B1H [Also in Division G1] A fraction collector for collecting the liquid fractions of a liquid chromatography system includes stationary means for mounting a plurality of fraction receivers in spaced relationship around the periphery of a circle, a delivery line for delivering liquid fractions to the receivers, the delivery line having a nozzle and being rotatably mounted whereby the nozzle can move around the circle, and means for rotating the delivery line intermittently whereby the nozzle moves in steps from one receiver to another. The fraction receivers may be test-tubes, or funnel-shaped holes in a suitable insert connected by pipelines to remote receivers. Holes between these intended to receive samples of interest may be connected together to a common receiver.
