Abstract

1420164 Lockable fluid actuators STABILUS GmbH 22 March 1973 [23 March 1972] 13994/73 Heading F2S [Also in Division A4] A telescopic column comprises two telescopic portions 16, 5 and 28, 30, a locking device for arresting telescopic movement accommodated within one 16, 5 of these portions and having a release button 15, and a release device for actuating the release button, the release device comprising a lever 4 pivoted at 3 to a mounting device 14, said mounting device passing through at least one opening 18 in the portion 5 and being secured against displacement to said portion 5. As shown, the mounting device 14 comprises two straps 1, 2 which are inserted through opposed openings 18, 17 in the portion 5, the straps 1, 2 being secured by insertion of the lever 4 between these straps 1, 2. The straps may additionally be secured by a peg (323, Fig. 7, not shown). The straps may be replaced by a U-shaped resilient clevis (see Figs. 9-11, not shown). The portions 16 and 28 may comprise a gas cylinder and piston, and portion 5, which is screwed to portion 16, may carry a chair or table top 21.
