Abstract

1420081 Ratchet clutches CAV Ltd 14 Feb 1973 [4 March 1972] 10214/72 Heading F2C In a ratchet clutch in which interengageable teeth 15 on driving and driven sleeves 10, 11 each have a straight driving face 17 and an inclined rear face 16, a spacer sleeve 18 interposed between the driving and driven sleeves 10, 11 prevents engagement of the inclined faces 16 during torque transmission through the straight faces 17. The driving sleeve 10 is helically splined at 12 to a driving shaft and the driven sleeve 11 is externally splined at 13 to a driven element. The spacer 18 and driven sleeve 11 are freely rotatably mounted on the driving shaft.
