Abstract

1418258 De-slagging apparatus; grab buckets ELPHIAC SA 12 Feb 1974 [21 Feb 1973] 06395/74 Heading B8H [Also in Division F4-] A de-slagging apparatus has pneumatically operated scoops 14 and 15 pivoted at 12 and 13 to a cup-shaped member 11 attached to a casing 1. The casing contains a cylinder 4 and piston which actuates a lever 7 connected to the scoops by links 8 and 9. The apparatus is supported by a ring 2 that engages a hook 3 of a travelling crane. Pneumatic fluid is supplied by flexible pipes 5 and 6 and the pneumatic cylinder is protected against heat by a shielding plate 16 and insulating material 17 in the bottom of the casing 1. A rod 18 may be secured to the casing for remote manipulation of the apparatus.
