Abstract

1417287 Yeast and vitamin compositions CERES PRODUCTS CO INC 26 Nov 1973 [24 Nov 1972] 54764/73 Heading A5B A process for preparing a yeast and vitamin concentrate having high activity in reducing the observable intoxicating effects of alcohol comprises: (a) admixing the vitamins thiamine, riboflavin and niacin with an edible yeast cream having a solids content of at least 10% and (b) dehydrating the slurry to reduce the moisture content to below 8% under time and temperature conditions whereby the activity of the admixture is not impaired. The mixture may be pasteurised, granulated and made up into tablets. The yeast is preferably debittered by washing and filtration prior to use. Binders such as vegetable gums, alginates, carrigeenins etc. may also be present.
