1416522 Fluid-flow meters UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY 14 Sept 1973 [31 Aug 1972] 40516/72 Heading GIR In a fluid-flow apparatus in which a set of swirl vanes 5 are located upstream of a reduced diameter portion of a pipe 1 an axially directed pressure transducer 7 is located on the longitudinal axis of the pipe 1 and the swirling fluid passing through the pipe 1 gerates signals in the transducer 7 the frequency of which is directly proportional to the fluid-flow rate. The transducer 7 is mounted in a flow straightener 6 and the signals generated in the transducer 7 are passed to a digital counter to give a direct reading of flow-rate.
