Ash-guards.-In tile ash-guards of the kind described in the parent Specification and in Specification 108,946, the side tiles are replaced by metal panels B connected to the top and bottom plates A, D, for example by lugs E and set-screws G, as shown in Fig. 2. Fig. 3 shows an ashguard having a fire-clay or tile body J to which the side panel B is attached by cement, undercut grooves being provided on its back surface to enable the cement to grip.
