1414399 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems D HAUBOLD [trading as DIETER HAUBOLD INDUSTRIELLE NAGELGERATE] 12 March 1973 [11 March 1972] 11843/73 Heading G3P [Also in Division F2] A flow control device has an annular resilient sealing member 5 housed in a circumferential recess 4 in the wall of an annular duct formed between a core 3c and the wall of the bore 2 in the body 1. If an adjustably spring-biased spool 15 is in the position shown communicating a control fluid pressure pipe 6 to the space between the member 5 and the wall of the recess 4 the member 5 is radially compressed to the position shown in which it closes the annular duct. If pressure rises in the inlet 12 and thus in the annular duct via aperture 13 and in space 14 via passage 18 the spool 15 is moved to connect the space between the member and the recess wall to exhaust via passage 19 so that the member 5 can radially expand into the recess 4 and open the annular duct. In modifications the control spool 15 is dispensed with, the annular member 5 is disposed in a recess in the inner wall of the annular duct, two annular members are disposed concentrically in the recess with an exhaust passage opening from the annular space there between, and two circumferential recesses containing annular members are spaced axially on opposite sides of a radial connection to the annular duct.
