1414177 Respiratory appliances AUERGESELLSCHAFT GmbH 15 Dec 1972 [15 Dec 1971] 58093/72 Heading A5T A respirator including a filter which deteriorates when in contact with water vapour is packaged in a first water vapour protective covering 2 for the filter, and an outer water vapour protective container 3 for the whole, a drying agent 4 being located between the first covering 2 and the container 3. The drying agent e.g. silica gel, in a perforated or at least partly moisture permeable container 5, is such that a colour change which is visible from outside the outer container through an inspection window 6 is produced when it has absorbed a predetermined amount of moisture. A second container 7 of drying agent may be provided. Cushioning material 8 is provided within the first covering 2.
