Abstract

1413765 Cage mat DIAMOND INTERNATIONAL CORP 24 Sept 1973 [2 May 1973] 44583/73 Heading AIM A flexible, moulded plastics anti-blister cage mat 15 for broilers comprises a uniform pattern of rounded openings 16 bordered on at least two sides by raised tubular or hollow ribs 18, 20 to afford a nesting surface the height of which may vary with the size of the openings 16. The ribs 18, 20 extend longitudinally and transversely, the terminal ends being squared off, with the overall dimensions of the mat substantially conforming to the outline of the wire cage bottom 10. The ribs define, at the-upper edge of the openings 16, radial upper peripheral margins which direct waste to the screen below. Integral spacer members are provided e.g. at 25.
