Abstract

1413325 Mobile grandstands J E SANDERS 19 Dec 1972 [7 Sept 1972] 41471/72 Heading B7B [Also in Division E1] A mobile grandstand is arranged on the trailer unit 2, Fig. 1, of an articulated lorry or is provided with a base 3, Fig. 4, supported on wheels 22, 23. Seats 1, Fig. 1, are formed by tiered benches spaced apart by an aisle 6. Seat extensions 7 are hinged to the base 3 and lowered through wires 9 by hand or electrically driven winches, not shown. Members 13, 14 form a frame supporting plastics sheeting 15, the roof 16 and rear wall being translucent. In another embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), individual seating is provided. The base 3, Fig. 5 (not shown), has telescopic corner legs (25) and wheels (26) raised by the legs when in use; alternatively the wheels can be raised. The legs may comprise telescopic sections (28), (29), (30), Fig. 7 (not shown), extended hydraulically or by a screw jack or ratchet or comprise folding sections Fig. 9 (not shown).
