1413074 Isocyanatate distillation IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 16 April 1974 [24 May 1973] 24828/73 Heading C2C The production of uretdione dimer sediment in the distillate during the distillation of a high boiling isocyanate is minimized by condensing and cooling the distillate vapour to a temperature below that at which substantial dimer formation takes place, by bringing the distillation vapour into intimate contact with a fine spray of the liquid form of the isocyanate. The preferred isocyanates are diphenylmethane diisocyanates.
