Abstract

1411691 Gold base alloy SIGMUND COHN CORP 24 April 1973 [21 July 1972] 19382/73 Heading C7A An alloy of composition:- Vanadium 7 to 8% Iron 1 to 10% Gold balance. The alloy may be prepared by vacuum melting and casting, annealing at 1450‹ F, swaging, further annealing at 1450‹ F, rolling and drawing to wire of diameter 0.005 " with intermediate annealing at 1100 to 1300‹ F in an argon or hydrogen atmosphere. The wire may be used in potentiometers, fixed or variable resistors, precision resistors or electro-explosive devices.
