Abstract

1410459 Grading moulded articles BUCHERGUYER AG MASCHINENFABRIK 19 June 1974 [19 June 1973] 27216/74 Heading B5A Injection moulded articles discharged from a mould cavity 8 on to a conveyer 10 are graded by an element 13 (Fig. 2, not shown) responsive to the degree of mould filling, and the direction of the conveyer 10 is determined by the signal from the element (13). Correct articles are sent to bin B1; oversized and undersized articles are sent to bins B3 and B2 respectively via a conveyer 12. The element (13) may be mounted in one mould half to measure the mould gap during moulding, or may measure injection pressure. A control circuit (Fig. 2) determines the direction of conveyers 10 and 12 and also sends a signal to either of two counters (21, 22) to record the correct and defective articles. The signal for oversize articles may be switched to either counter depending on whether they are to be recovered by removal of excessive flash. The conveyer 10, 12 may be replaced by pushers or by flaps.
