Abstract

1408995 Aerating liquids BOC INTERNATIONAL LTD 7 Aug 1974 [16 Aug 1973] 38742/73 Heading B1C A method of dissolving inert gas (e.g. nitrogen, hydrogen or argon) in a beverage (e.g. beer, wine or soft drinks) comprises removing air from a container, introducing inert gas and filling the container with the beverage in such manner that the inert gas pressure is in the range of 5 to 90 psig and the rising surface of the beverage is maintained in an unbroken condition for at least 80% of the filling period. The container may be freed from air by evacuation and/or flushing with inert gas or by filling with water and driving out the water with inert gas. The beverage may be introduced by a dip tube or tangentially along the interior wall of the container.
