Abstract

1408898 Collapsible caravans G J VINCE and F J VINCE 14 Nov 1972 52424/72 Heading B7B A folding caravan comprises a lid 2 hinged to an outer tray 3, and an inner tray 4 slidable from the outer tray, the arrangement being such that when the parts 2 and 4 are extended they form the caravan floor. Low wall sections 17, 18 and 19 are fitted to the parts, the sections 18 and 19 being hinged to panels 18a, 19b having curved top edges and retained in raised position by tubular members 59, 60, and 61 which support a canvas roof. Stays 73 and 74 limit the outward movement of the panels 18a, 19b and panels 43a, 44b. The interior is fitted with hinged seats, a table, work top (79) and twin burners, Fig. 7 (not shown), and wash bowl 84. A storage compartment is provided beneath the floor 3. The caravan body is mounted on a trailer provided with a tow bar and can be folded from the erect position to the collapsed position Fig. 1. In erect position, the caravan is stabilized by adjustable retractable ground engaging feet, the opened lid 2 also being provided adjustable stabilizers provided within a baggage rack secured to the top of the lid.
