Abstract

1408602 Cathode-ray tube displays SIEMENS AG 21 Sept 1972 [21 Sept 1971] 43826/72 Heading H4T Each of a plurality of curves (Fig. 1) on the screen of a raster scanned display device has associated therewith an identifying digit 1, 2, 3, 4, the latter being additionally displayed outside the curve display area in association with text material containing information regarding the individual curves. The different curves, the measured values of which are represented by ordinate values "plotted" in the (horizontal) direction of line scanning P against a vertical time axis, may be distingushed from one another by being displayed in different forms, such as an unbroken line, a chain line, &c. &c. or alternatively, the identification digits 1, 2, 3, 4 may be repeated continuously along the respective curves. The display of the identification digits is produced by intensification of the raster lines in a five-by-seven dot matrix pattern, one of the dots in such pattern, e.g. the top left-hand dot in the case of scanning from top-to-bottom, being employed as a point of origin of the digit which is displayed in a line a short time interval after the display in the same line of a curve measured value dot. Additionally the digits are staggered in relation to one another in the abscissa direction to prevent possible overlap. Apparatus for carrying out the invention is described with reference to block-circuit diagrams, Figs. 2 and 3 (neither shown).
