Abstract
1406716 Parenteral solution containers BAXTER LABORATORIES INC 20 Sept 1972 [20 Sept 1971] 43602/72 Heading A5R [Also in Division B5] A blow-mould for a container for a parentera1 solution comprises a pair of cooperating mould halves movable between open and closed positions for receiving and moulding a plastics parison respectively, the cavity having opposed grooves to produce opposed ahannels in the moulded article. As shown in Fig 13, parison 43 is extruded from extruder 65 between open mould halves 48, 50, which are then closed by cylinders 51 to seal the lower end by means 49 which also form rigid bar 26, Fig 1 and handle 28 at 53. The parison is then blown moulded and filled by the fluid contents supplied from tube 67, after which cylinders 63 close top sealing means 61, which also form outlets 14, 18. The material may be polyvinyl chloride or polypropylene. The opposed channels act to cause the container to collapse into a flat form as the solution drains from the container.
