Combing-machines. - In a detaching-roller mechanism for a Heilmann-type combing- machine, of the kind comprising a quadrant and a clutch-device, the clutch-box is mounted on a countershaft Y geared to the detaching-roller shaft X and driven by the quadrant F. The clutch part G, which drives the shaft X through gears V, W, is loose on the shaft Y, which slides in its bearings to engage and disengage the driven clutch part H. The quadrant F is mounted on an eccentrically adjustable stud J to allow for the elimination of back-lash, and is positioned between the carrying-beam K and the quadrant cam E, with its fulcrum as near as possible to the beam K. The main drive-gear A engages directly with both the gear B on the countershaft C and the gear D on the cam shaft O. The gear D and cam E are both adjustably secured on a disk-flanged sleeve P keyed to the shaft. Specification 14536/07 is referred to.
