Abstract

1405859 Movable display devices R E COX 8 March 1974 [20 March 1973] 13184/73 Headings G5C and G4H In an adjustable indicator apparatus a band 10 carrying numbers 11 or other indicia is driven between rollers 12, 13 in either direction by a reversible motor 15 until the number selected by rotary selector switch 20 appears at a viewing window, whereupon the motor stops. Apertures 22 in the band 10 each have a transverse position corresponding to one of the numbers, and motor 15 runs until one of the fingers 18 passes through the aperture for the selected number and contacts bus-bar 16. Relay 23 then operates to break the motor circuit and energize a lamp 39 corresponding to the selected number. The band is automatically reversed when finger 34 or 35 penetrates a corresponding end-position aperture to actuate reversing relay 31. Alternatively, the band may be reversed by a pawl and ratchet device operated by manual setting of selector 20.
