Abstract
1405561 Electro-phoretic enamel coating MIELE & CIE 31 July 1973 [3 Aug 1972] 36370/73 Heading C7B In the electro-phoretic coating of iron and steel articles from an aqueous enamel slip, the workpiece is anodic and immersed in the slip and one or more cathodes are each separated therefrom by a diaphragm impermeable to enamel and permeable to water and cations only when an electric current passes, there being means in the cathode compartment for removing excess electrolyte (i.e. water and cations) which pass through the diaphragm during coating. Each cathode chamber may have an overflow outlet in the upper third of its height.
