Abstract

1405481 Knitting machine cams VYZKUMNY A VYVOJOVY USTAV ZAVODU VSEOBECNEHO STROJIRENSTVI 14 Sept 1972 42791/72 Heading D1C In a cam assembly for a cylinder and dial knitting machine, a pin 3 is adjustable in the direction of movement of the knitting needles and has a groove 8 in which a projection 9 on a stitch cam 10 can slide so that the stitch cam which is positioned between cam elements on the assembly can be adjusted in a direction substantially perpendicular to the first. Pin 3 is adjusted by a screw 7 with a conical end which engages a tapered slot 6 in the pin 3 against the action of spring 4. Stitch cam 10 pivots about pin 11 as ribs 9 slides in groove 8 and is held adjusted by screw 13. Cam 15 is also secured to the pin 3 and carries cams 16 associated with cams 10 and 15 are provided, some of the cams having projections 20 to cover gaps due to adjustment.
