Abstract

1405317 Ozonization of sulphur-containing water FUJI DENKI SEIZO KK 3 July 1973 [14 July 1972] 31644/73 Heading C1C A method of treating waste water from a desulphurization process comprises reacting the sulphur dioxide component of sulphur dioxidecontaining materials contained therein with an aqueous solution of basic materials and treating with ozone to convert the sulphur dioxide component to sulphates, is characterized in that the concentration of the dissolved sulphates is said waste water is maintained at a value of not higher than 15 g./100 ml. Pure ozone, or a gas containing ozone, may be used in the treatment.
