Abstract
1405039 Direct connections PAUL VAHLE KG 1 Aug 1973 [11 Sept 1972] 36638/73 Heading H2E [Also in Division B7] A current conductor rail comprises a hollow metal base body 11, having a cross-piece 112 and securing flanges 114 and a wear resistant metal bar 12 slidably engageable on its surface 121 by a vehicle current collector shoe, wherein the cross-piece 112 is formed with spaced dovetail projections 113 extending along the length of the rail and the bar is formed with spaced inverted U-shaped recesses 122 on the side facing the body 11 and aligned with the projections 113, the bar being secured on the body by bending the flanks 124, 124<SP>1</SP> of the recesses 122 into contact with the flanks of the dovetail projections 113. The bending operation on the flanks 124 is performed by drawing a die and former along the rail as described with reference to Figs 3 and 4 (not shown) so that portions 112<SP>1</SP> of the crosspiece 112 are pressed into grooves 123 in the bar 12 between the recesses 122 and flanks 124<SP>1</SP> are pressed against the outer flanks of the bar 12.
